Hello TonyB!

The only thing it takes to get a website to start showing up on the first page of Google is time, a little luck, and a lot of work. Generally speaking of course, assuming you don't have crazy competition for local carpet cleaning search. I honestly don't know the market.

To get started, try reading up in the forum I listed above at http://forums.digitalpoint.com there is a lot of free information there to get you started. As you progress, developing link strategies, content creation, and possibly spending some money on online advertising, information on all of these can be found by reading through the forums. Of course, this isn't the only place on the net, the following websites are what I recommend to read thoroughly.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com
http://v7n.com
http://searchenginewatch.com/
http://sitepoint.com

Start reading. I've been reading and learning non-stop for over 3 years and I'm fairly confident I have yet to see the iceberg below the surface of the water.

Hi Everyone,
I have a carpet cleaning business in Houston,TX that was doing pretty good until the economy went bad, and with it my clientele. I have a website for the business but I dont
know what I have to do the get it to show up in a search. Right now it's somewhere in the yahoo/google netherworld (LOL).

Is there someone on here that can give me some insight or know of anyone that coud give me insight on how I can get my local website on the front
page of a Yahoo or Google search to increase my business without it costing me 5 or 10k $$$? If so please share with me.

I thank you and my hungry over-eating children thank you.

thanks,
