Verizon LG Lock Password

I'm an idiot, I know I'm an idiot, but damn't I was reminded again this morning of how stupid I can be sometimes. To make a long story short, I bought a used cell phone off of ebay, because my old phone decided it could swim. The used phone off of ebay worked great, until I locked the keys and needed a password to unlock them.

I contacted the seller, which dealt with all kinds of phones...so they had no idea. I went to a Verizon kiosk in the mall, they told me there was nothing they could do. So, finally I managed to go to the main store in my city and talk with their technical service area.

To unlock your Verizon phone, your password is the last 4 digits of your phone number. doh!?

I love you. I was messing around with my new (off of ebay) phone, and for some reason thought it’d be a good idea to press and hold keys to see what it would do. Hmm, little vibrating computer symbol brings up shortcuts, little lock symbol…Oh I locked my phone. *thoughtful pause* *enter obvious codes like 0000 and 1234* *laughter*
But seriously, my entire life is on that phone I would have been so mad if I’d had to get a new one because I locked myself out forever. Regardless of how amusing it was.
And therefore, THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for providing the info. I was trying to switch to vibrate mode and instead of holding the “*” key down, I held the “#” key which locks the phone.

You are a life saver. I must have some how during the night rolled on to my phone and thus locking it. I tried the round of obvious codes and my own voicemail code nothing worked. I thought I was screwed.

@Hyebin

hmmm, that’s a really good question. In this case I believe you fall under SOL. :)

Good luck and let us know if you find the answer, maybe a local store can help you.

Thank you. My six month old figured out how to lock my phone, which I have had for over 2 years without even knowing it COULD lock. My little Verizon booklet said the default was 0000… tried that and every combo I could think of. Bless you for posting this and making it available to people who turn to google to find a solution to everything.

Anytime Min, glad it helped. :) I have a 1 1/2 year old myself who loves electronics, so I’m sure she will be teaching me some features I’m not familiar with.

for those of you who changed your locked code and dont remeber it for some odd reason ive come across away to counter it. dial *228, this will reset the password on your phone and it will turn back to the last 4 digits of your number. type it in and your good to go.

My Verizon Chocolate Sucks
I found out about 2 years ago that my LG flip phone was not water proof or at least river proof.  Therefore I had to spring for a new phone and because I didn't carry Verizon's insurance I had to pay full tilt.  The Chocolate was the coolest thing out
After Christmas Slump In Earnings
It has been a dry year so far in 2010, at least with my revenue stream.  Only thing I can come up with is that people have went on lock down with their typical spending patterns, now that the holidays are over.  Or, perhaps, I've been targeting the wrong products
